We are converting an empty caretaker’s cottage in the grounds of Mandeville School into the Hackney School of Food.  Here, 5,000 children – and many of their families – from schools and communities across inner city London will be taught to cook savoury, nutritious, low cost meal each year. We will use this community cookery school, opening in autumn 2019, to further trial and develop our teaching curriculum.


Here, we will also train school cooks to broaden their skills and cook better food for children.


The designs will be freely available to other schools and communities to convert disused buildings into cookery teaching spaces at low cost. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
